He calculates (in his preface so you don't have to read the whole book) the years prophesied by Daniel from the decree of Cyrus to the first coming of Christ. He shows his math and coordinates the different calendars so that anyone who is curious can find the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on his donkey.
